Fall....Fall...Falling

Playing for the Championship

Fair Fun - Cows Included

The seasons are changing.  This year I was not ready to let go of summer, the lack of schedules, the slower times, the four of us being together.  Here we are at the end of September and, I am still not grounded that Fall is here and here to stay.  This year, I feel as though I am falling into Fall, head first, unsure, and surprised.  Okay - maybe there could be some kicking and defiance involved!  Despite my feelings, the beautiful trees with their colourful leaves, the drop in temperature, and the early setting sun remind me that we are heading into a different season.  A season full of renewal...I hope!

School has started and despite some bumps in the road, we are there and moving along.  It can be a struggle to enjoy the change, the inevitable change and find the beauty in the new and the promise of something unexpected.  Today's pictures capture that excitement of the unexpected.  My darlings soccer team advancing to the finals (very unexpected) and the sudden realization in the girls eyes that they were winning.  They played like a team, and worked together towards one goal.  It gave me hope.  We also spent time at the local Fall Fair, where unexpectedly my oldest darling showed a cow (her first time!) and she was thrilled.  I think the ribbon and small prize money helped with the excitement - she came home asking for her own calf!  Given her birthday is coming, this could take some negotiation.

I will be trying in the days to come to embrace the changes, enjoy the new and breathe deeply.  A process.....

11 years and counting

Today is the 11th anniversary of the day my husband and I said "I do" in front of 200 of our family and friends.  The weather was calling for rain (and it did rain...making for a very nervous bride!), however when the time for the outdoor ceremony came, the rain cleared up and the sun came out shining...a good metaphor.  We had a lovely and emotional ceremony.  Oh we were so young!!!!  Really that day was just the beginning.  I understand that now, looking back.

Here we are today...11 years...two beautiful darlings...a house...a dog (we miss you Freudie!!!, so very much) and many job changes since...still together...still smiling...still loving.

Today's picture represents the sweet, the handmade...the love of sharing something together.  Enjoy!
